Sonnet Xxvii: Oft And In Vain Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEBEBFF

Oft and in vain my rebel thoughts have ventur'dA
To stop the passage of my vanquisht heartB
And shut those ways my friendly foe first enter'dA
Hoping thereby to free my better partB
And whilst I guard these windows of this fortC
Where my heart's thief to vex me made her choiceD
And thither all my forces do transportC
Another passage opens at her voiceD
Her voice betrays me to her hand and eyeE
My freedom's tyrants conquering all by artB
But ah what glory can she get therebyE
With three such powers to plague one silly heartB
Yet my soul's sovereign since I must resignF
Reign in my thoughts my love and life are thineF
