Sonnet Xxiii: Time, Cruel Time Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCBDBBEBEFF

Time cruel Time come and subdue that browA
Which conquers all but thee and thee too staysB
As if she were exempt from scythe or bowA
From love or years unsubject to decaysB
Or art thou grown in league with those fair eyesC
That they may help thee to consume our daysB
Or dost thou spare her for her crueltiesD
Being merciless like thee that no man weighsB
And yet thou seest thy power she disobeysB
Cares not for thee but lets thee waste in vainE
And prodigal of hours and years betraysB
Beauty and youth t'opinion and disdainE
Yet spare her Time let her exempted beF
She may become more kind to thee or meF
