Puritans - (from Hudibras) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCDEAFGEHIJKLMNOOP PQRRSS

Our brethren of New England useA
Choice malefactors to excuseA
And hang the guiltless in their steadB
Of whom the churches have less needC
As late it happened in a townD
Where lived a cobbler and but oneE
That out of doctrine could cut useA
And mend men's lives as well as shoesF
This precious brother having slainG
In times of peace an IndianE
Not out of malice but mere zealH
Because he was an infidelI
The mighty TottipotimoyJ
Complaining loudly of the breachK
Of league held forth by brother PatchL
Against the articles in forceM
Between both churches his and oursN
For which he craved the saints to renderO
Into his hands or hang the offenderO
But they maturely having weighedP
They had no more but him of the tradeP
A man that served them in the doubleQ
Capacity to spare him yet to doR
The Indian Hogan Mogan tooR
Impartial justice in his stead didS
Hang an old weaver that was bedridS
