The Cynic's Fealty Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBA CDDC EFFE

We all have hearts that shake alikeA
Beneath the arias of Fate's handB
Although the cynics sneering standB
These too the deathless powers strikeA
-
A trembling lover's infinite trustC
To the last drop of doating bloodD
Feels not alone the ocean floodD
Of desperate grief when dreams are dustC
-
The scornfullest souls with mourning eyesE
Pant o'er again their ghostly waysF
Dread night paths where were gleaming daysF
When life was lovelier than the skiesE
