Inlet And Shore Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBA CDDC EFFE DGGD HIIH JKLM

Here is a world of changing glowA
Where moods roll swiftly far and wideB
Waves sadder than a funeral's prideB
Or bluer than the harebell's blowA
-
The sunlight makes the black hulls castC
A firefly radiance down the deepD
The inlet gleams the long clouds sweepD
The sails flit up the sails drop pastC
-
The far sea line is hushed and stillE
The nearer sea has life and voiceF
Each soul may take his fondest choiceF
The silence or the restless thrillE
-
O little children of the deepD
The single sails the bright full sailsG
Gold in the sun dark when it failsG
Now you are smiling then you weepD
-
O blue of heaven and bluer seaH
And green of wave and gold of skyI
And white of sand that stretches byI
Toward east and west away from meH
-
O shell strewn shore that silent hearsJ
The legend of the mighty mainK
And tells to none the lore againL
We catch one utterance only YearsM
