In September Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBCCDCCEEFGGHIIJJGG GGGGGGKKGGFBBGGGFFHH

IN wood hollows mate the swallowsA
On the house tops sparrows marryB
Where's the laggard that would tarryB
When the Spring is up and doingC
And the doves of Love are cooingC
O the lovers she discoversD
Heart and heart together linkingC
'Tis of them perchance you're thinkingC
In this moment's rich completenessE
Tasting over bygone sweetnessE
Nay you gladden not but saddenF
At the sight of such surrenderG
To Love's impulse warm and tenderG
As yon couple mingling kissesH
Show nor dream that aught amiss isI
Who supposes summer rosesI
When the bee no longer settlesJ
On their satin surfaced petalsJ
Young no more nor sweet nor tenderG
View with scorn their pirate's splendourG
I remember one SeptemberG
Light as thistledown or featherG
Long with love we strayed togetherG
Careless of wise word or censureG
On a quest of sweet adventureG
Why and wherefore blame them thereforeG
Puppets they yon pretty coupleK
He so strong and she so suppleK
Dancing fast and fast and fasterG
At the will of Love their masterG
Little woman Love is humanF
Fickle too and there's the pityB
Never yet was wench so wittyB
King so strong or knave so cleverG
As to make him theirs for everG
Though September blows no emberG
Into flame for you this seasonF
Yet 'tis neither rhyme nor reasonF
Thus to scoff with chilly phrasesH
At the flames that she upraisesH
