The Old Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAC DEDE FGFGCB HIHH

They are waiting on the shoreA
For the bark to take them homeB
They will toil and grieve no moreA
The hour for release hath comeC
-
All their long life lies behindD
Like a dimly blending dreamE
There is nothing left to bindD
To the realms that only seemE
-
They are waiting for the boatF
There is nothing left to doG
What was near them grows remoteF
Happy silence falls like dewG
Now the shadowy bark is comeC
And the weary may go homeB
-
By still water they would restH
In the shadow of the treeI
After battle sleep is bestH
After noise tranquillityH
