The Place For No Story Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJKL

The coast hills at Sovranes CreekA
No trees but dark scant pasture drawn thinB
Over rock shaped like flameC
The old ocean at the land's foot the vastD
Gray extension beyond the long white violenceE
A herd of cows and the bullF
Far distant hardly apparent up the dark slopeG
And the gray air haunted with hawksH
This place is the noblest thing I have ever seenI
No imaginableJ
Human presence here could do anythingK
But dilute the lonely self watchful passionL
