| The old ocean at the land's foot the vast | D |

| Far distant hardly apparent up the dark slope | G |
| And the gray air haunted with hawks | H |
| This place is the noblest thing I have ever seen | I |
| No imaginable | J |
| Human presence here could do anything | K |
| But dilute the lonely self watchful passion | L |
