People And A Heron Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHAIJK

A desert of weed and water darkened stone under my western windowsA
The ebb lasted all afternoonB
And many pieces of humanity men women and children gathering shellfishC
Swarmed with voices of gulls the sea breachD
At twilight they went off together the verge was left vacant anE
evening heronF
Bent broad wings over the black ebbG
And left me wondering why a lone bird was dearer to me that many peopleH
Well rare is dear but also I supposeA
Well reconciled with the world but not with our own naturesI
we grudge to see themJ
Reflected on the world for a mirrorK
