Ave Caesar Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGH

No bitterness our ancestors did itA
They were only ignorant and hopeful they wanted freedom but wealth tooB
Their children will learn to hope for a CaesarC
Or rather for we are not aquiline Romans but soft mixed colonistsD
Some kindly Sicilian tyrant who'll keepE
Poverty and Carthage off until the Romans arriveF
We are easy to manage a gregarious peopleG
Full of sentiment clever at mechanics and we love our luxuriesH
