The Troll's Nosegay Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACDEDE FGGFHGIGGF

A simple nosegay was that much to askA
Winter still gloomed with scarce a bud yet showingB
He loved her ill if he resigned the taskA
'Somewhere ' she cried 'there must be blossom blowing 'C
It seems my lady wept and the troll sworeD
By Heaven he hated tears he'd cure her spleenE
Where she had begged one flower he'd shower four scoreD
A haystack bunch to amaze a China QueenE
-
Cold fog drawn Lily pale mist magic RoseF
He conjured and in a glassy cauldron setG
With elvish unsubstantial MignonetteG
And such vague bloom as wandering dreams encloseF
But sheH
AwedG
Charmed to tearsI
DistractedG
YetG
Even yet perhaps a trifle piqued who knowsF
