The Spoilsport Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEDE FGFG HGHG IJIJ AGCG

My familiar ghost againA
Comes to see what he can seeB
Critic son of Conscious BrainC
Spying on our privacyB
-
Slam the window bolt the doorD
Yet he'll enter in and stayE
In tomorrow's book he'll scoreD
Indiscretions of todayE
-
Whispered love and muttered fearsF
How their echoes fly aboutG
None escape his watchful earsF
Every sigh might be a shoutG
-
No kind words nor angry criesH
Turn away this grim spoilsportG
No fine lady's pleading eyesH
Neither love nor hate nor portG
-
Critics wears no smile of funI
Speaks no word of blame nor praiseJ
Counts our kisses one by oneI
Notes each gesture every phraseJ
-
My familiar ghost againA
Stands or squats where suits him bestG
Critic son of Conscious BrainC
Listens watches takes no restG
