Sorley's Weather Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EDED FBGB HHHH

When outside the icy rainA
Comes leaping helter skelterB
Shall I tie my restive brainA
Snugly under shelterB
-
Shall I make a gentle songC
Here in my firelit studyD
When outside the winds blow strongC
And the lanes are muddyD
-
With old wine and drowsy meatsE
Am I to fill my bellyD
Shall I glutton here with KeatsE
Shall I drink with ShelleyD
-
Tobacco's pleasant firelight's goodF
Poetry makes both betterB
Clay is wet and so is mudG
Winter rains are wetterB
-
Yet rest there Shelley on the sillH
For though the winds come frorelyH
I'm away to the rain blown hillH
And the ghost of SorleyH
