Brittle Bones Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDED AFAFGHIJ AKAKLJLH AKAKMJNH AFAFKJOH

Though I am an old manA
With my bones very brittleB
Though I am a poor old manA
Worth very littleB
Yet I suck at my long pipeC
At peace in the sunD
I do not fret nor much regretE
That my work is doneD
-
If I were a young manA
With my bones full of marrowF
Oh if I were a bold young manA
Straight as an arrowF
And if I had the same yearsG
To live once againH
I would not change their simple rangeI
Of laughter and painJ
-
If I were a young manA
And young was my LilyK
A smart girl a bold young manA
Both of us sillyK
And though from time before I knewL
She'd stab me with painJ
Though well I knew she'd not be trueL
I'd love her againH
-
If I were a young manA
With a brisk healthy bodyK
Oh if I were a bold young manA
With love of rum toddyK
Though I knew that I was spitingM
My old age with painJ
My happy lip would touch and sipN
Again and againH
-
If I were a young manA
With my bones full of marrowF
Oh if I were a bold young manA
Straight as an arrowF
I'd store up no virtueK
For Heaven's distant plainJ
I'd live at ease as I did pleaseO
And sin once againH
