Advice To Lovers Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBA CCDD EFEF GGHH IJIJ

I knew an old man at a FairA
Who made it his twice yearly taskB
To clamber on a cider caskB
And cry to all the yokels thereA
-
Lovers to day and for all timeC
Preserve the meaning of my rhymeC
Love is not kindly nor yet grimD
But does to you as you to himD
-
Whistle and Love will come to youE
Hiss and he fades without a wordF
Do wrong and he great wrong will doE
Speak he retells what he has heardF
-
Then all you lovers have good heedG
Vex not young Love in word or deedG
Love never leaves an unpaid debtH
He will not pardon nor forgetH
-
The old man's voice was sweet yet loudI
And this shows what a man was heJ
He'd scatter apples to the crowdI
And give great draughts of cider freeJ
