A Pinch Of Salt Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCC DEDEFF GHGHII

When a dream is born in youA
With a sudden clamorous painB
When you know the dream is trueA
And lovely with no flaw nor stainB
O then be careful or with sudden clutchC
You'll hurt the delicate thing you prize so muchC
-
Dreams are like a bird that mocksD
Flirting the feathers of his tailE
When you seize at the salt boxD
Over the hedge you'll see him sailE
Old birds are neither caught with salt nor chaffF
They watch you from the apple bough and laughF
-
Poet never chase the dreamG
Laugh yourself and turn awayH
Mask your hunger let it seemG
Small matter if he come or stayH
But when he nestles in your hand at lastI
Close up your fingers tight and hold him fastI
