Winter Nightfall Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFEGHIHJKLKMNON PQRQSTUV

The day begins to droopA
Its course is doneB
But nothing tells the placeC
Of the setting sunB
The hazy darkness deepensD
And up the laneE
You may hear but cannot seeF
The homing wainE
An engine pants and humsG
In the farm hard byH
Its lowering smoke is lostI
In the lowering skyH
The soaking branches dripJ
And all night throughK
The dropping will not ceaseL
In the avenueK
A tall man there in the houseM
Must keep his chairN
He knows he will never againO
Breathe the spring airN
His heart is worn with workP
He is giddy and sickQ
If he rise to go as farR
As the nearest rickQ
He thinks of his morn of lifeS
His hale strong yearsT
And braves as he may the nightU
Of darkness and tearsV
