Nimium Fortunatus Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHIH JKLK MNON PQRQ STUT

I have lain in the sunA
I have toil'd as I mightB
I have thought as I wouldC
And now it is nightB
-
My bed full of sleepD
My heart full of contentE
For friends that I metF
The way that I wentE
-
I welcome fatigueG
While frenzy and careH
Like thin summer cloudsI
Go melting in airH
-
To dream as I mayJ
And awake when I willK
With the song of the birdsL
And the sun on the hillK
-
Or death were it deathM
To what would I wakeN
Who loved in my homeO
All life for its sakeN
-
What good have I wroughtP
I laugh to have learnedQ
That joy cannot comeR
Unless it be earnedQ
-
For a happier lotS
Than God giveth meT
It never hath beenU
Nor ever shall beT
