Lord Kitchner Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBA CDDEED

Unflinching hero watchful to foreseeA
And face thy country's peril wheresoe'erB
Directing war and peace with equal careB
Till by long toil ennobled thou wert heA
Whom England call'd and bade Set my arm freeA
To obey my will and save my honour fairB
What day the foe presumed on her despairB
And she herself had trust in none but theeA
-
Among Herculean deeds the miracleC
That mass'd the labour of ten years in oneD
Shall be thy monument Thy work was doneD
Ere we could thank thee and the high sea swellE
Surgeth unheeding where thy proud ship fellE
By the lone Orkneys at the set of sunD
