The Silken Tent Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABABCACAAAAADDShe is as in a field of silken tent | A |
At midday when the sunny summer breeze | B |
Has dried the dew and all its ropes relent | A |
So that in guys it gently sways at ease | B |
And its supporting central cedar pole | C |
That is its pinnacle to heavenward | A |
And signifies the sureness of the soul | C |
Seems to owe naught to any single cord | A |
But strictly held by none is loosely bound | A |
By countless silken ties of love and thought | A |
To every thing on earth the compass round | A |
And only by one's going slightly taut | A |
In the capriciousness of summer air | D |
Is of the slightlest bondage made aware | D |
