The Door In The Dark Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBACCCDD

In going from room to room in the darkA
I reached out blindly to save my faceB
But neglected however lightly to laceB
My fingers and close my arms in an arcA
A slim door got in past my guardC
And hit me a blow in the head so hardC
I had my native simile jarredC
So people and things don't pair any moreD
With what they used to pair with beforeD
