| But up from where they die | B |
| Rise others vaster yet | A |
| And those are brown and dry | B |

| They are the sea made land | C |
| To come at the fisher town | D |
| And bury in solid sand | C |
| The men she could not drown | D |

| She may know cove and cape | E |
| But she does not know mankind | F |
| If by any change of shape | E |
| She hopes to cut off mind | F |

| Men left her a ship to sink | G |
| They can leave her a hut as well | H |
| And be but more free to think | G |
