Misgiving Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABCCB DEFE GHIH JKLKAll crying 'We will go with you O Wind ' | A |
The foliage follow him leaf and stem | B |
But a sleep oppresses them as they go | C |
And they end by bidding them as they go | C |
And they end by bidding him stay with them | B |
- | |
Since ever they flung abroad in spring | D |
The leaves had promised themselves this flight | E |
Who now would fain seek sheltering wall | F |
Or thicket or hollow place for the night | E |
- | |
And now they answer his summoning blast | G |
With an ever vaguer and vaguer stir | H |
Or at utmost a little reluctant whirl | I |
That drops them no further than where they were | H |
- | |
I only hope that when I am free | J |
As they are free to go in quest | K |
Of the knowledge beyond the bounds of life | L |
It may not seem better to me to rest | K |
