Misgiving Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABCCB DEFE GHIH JKLK| All crying 'We will go with you O Wind ' | A |
| The foliage follow him leaf and stem | B |
| But a sleep oppresses them as they go | C |
| And they end by bidding them as they go | C |
| And they end by bidding him stay with them | B |
| - | |
| Since ever they flung abroad in spring | D |
| The leaves had promised themselves this flight | E |
| Who now would fain seek sheltering wall | F |
| Or thicket or hollow place for the night | E |
| - | |
| And now they answer his summoning blast | G |
| With an ever vaguer and vaguer stir | H |
| Or at utmost a little reluctant whirl | I |
| That drops them no further than where they were | H |
| - | |
| I only hope that when I am free | J |
| As they are free to go in quest | K |
| Of the knowledge beyond the bounds of life | L |
| It may not seem better to me to rest | K |
