There Is Still Splendour Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAACCADEFGDG HIIHHJJHKLMLKM

O when will life taste clean again For the airA
Is fouled the world sees hears and each day bringsB
Vile fume that would corrupt eternal thingsB
Were they corruptible Harsh trumpets blareA
Victory over the defenceless thereA
Beauty and compassion all that loves the lightC
Is outcast thousands in a homeless nightC
Climb misery's blind paths to the peak DespairA
Not only martyr'd flesh but the mind bleedsD
There's nothing left to call inhuman soE
Defaced is man's name by the things men doF
O worse yet worse if the world seeing thisG
The hideous spawn of misbegotten creedsD
Grow used drugged deadened and accept the abyssG
-
There is still splendour the sea tells of itH
From far shores and where murder's made to lurkI
In the clean waters there men go to workI
Simply upon their daily business knitH
Together in one cause they think no whitH
Of glory enough that they are men To thoseJ
Who live by terror calmly they opposeJ
What wills dares and despises to submitH
And the air tells of it out of the eye's kenK
Wings range and soar a symbol of the freeL
In the same cause outspeeding the swift windM
Millions of spirits bear them companyL
This is the splendour in the souls of menK
Which flames against that treason to mankindM
