The Zeppelin Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCADCEFGHIGJBKJLKMN OMPAQRSQPSTDITUV

Guns far and nearA
Quick sudden angryB
They startle the still streetC
Upturned faces appearA
Doors open on darknessD
There is a hurrying of feetC
And whirled athwart gloomE
White fingers of alarmF
Point at last thereG
Where illumined and dumbH
A shape suspendedI
Hovers a demon of the starry airG
Strange and cold as a dreamJ
Of sinister fancyB
It charms like a snakeK
Poised deadly in the gleamJ
While bright explosionsL
Leap up to it and breakK
Is it terror you seekM
To exult in Know thenN
Hearts are hereO
That the plunging beakM
Of night winged murderP
Strikes not with fearA
So much as it stringsQ
To a deep elationR
And a quivering prideS
That at last the hour bringsQ
For them too the dangerP
Of those who diedS
Of those who yet fightT
Spending for each of usD
Their glorious bloodI
In the foreign nightT
That now we are neared to themU
Thank we GodV
