The Thistle Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHIH JKLK MNFN

In a patch of baked earthA
At the crumbled cliff's brinkB
Where the parching of AugustC
Has cracked a long chinkB
-
Against the blue voidD
Of still sea and skyE
Stands single a thistleF
Tall tarnished and dryE
-
Frayed leaves spotted brownG
Head hoary and tornH
Was ever a weedI
Upon earth so forlornH
-
So solemnly gazed onJ
By the sun in his sheenK
That prints in long shadowL
Its raggedness leanK
-
From the sky comes no laughterM
From earth not a moanN
Erect stands the thistleF
Its seeds abroad blownN
