The Rag-picker Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCABC DEFDEF GHIGHI JKLJKL MNOMPO

In the April sunA
Shuffling shapeless bentB
Cobweb eyed with stickC
Searching one by oneA
Gutter heaps intentB
Wretched rags to pickC
-
Oh is this a manD
Man whose spirit erectE
Trampling circumstanceF
Death and evil canD
Measure worlds nor checkedE
By fell time and chanceF
-
With undaunted eyeG
With a mouth of songH
Front the starry blueI
O you passers byG
Moving swift and strongH
Answer what seek youI
-
Husk of manhood mereJ
Shrivel of his kindK
In a bloodless maskL
How the old eyes peerJ
With no light behindK
Mate of his mean taskL
-
Yet this wreckage fillM
With a thought possessN
With a faith's empireO
It shall be a willM
Mightier than the seasP
Man more dread than fireO
