The Promise Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAAB CDCD AEAF AA

What wonder of what hope do you enfoldA
Whose eyes are all filled with futurityA
What shape of more than beauty would you mouldA
With desire's strength out of the dim to beB
-
Your bosom is the haunt of holy fearsC
Shadows are all about you whisperingD
Deep words and glorious names from the full yearsC
But like the stars in heaven your pulses singD
-
Of a voice sweeter than all tones yet heardA
Of a heart richer than the summer's storeE
Of earth awakened from old bonds and spurredA
To run a new race for her conquerorF
-
You wait with thoughts all glowing like the NightA
And in you buds the flower the marvel LightA
