The Pine Woods Of Grijo Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GHGI JKJK LMLMOur voices break on a stillness bright and strange | A |
Of early morning Pines upon either hand | B |
People the sunshine deep as eye can range | A |
Their lofty throngs in a darkling order stand | B |
- | |
Our sandy path new washed with rains of night | C |
Already is dry but dewily shine its banks | D |
And cool the shadows asleep upon stems upright | C |
Unevenly dapple the silent endless ranks | D |
- | |
The shadows they lie so lightly I think if a wind | E |
Blew hither his breath would lift them as all sad cares | F |
Are lifted blown from the cleared and eager mind | E |
That now unbidden its native pleasure dares | F |
- | |
O pines of ardent branches that plume with green | G |
The delicate blue of morning and softly house | H |
The warm light poured from a splendour half unseen | G |
O forest still and scented hear my vows | I |
- | |
My body is warm to my heart and I rejoice | J |
I clothe myself with the light as ye are clad | K |
As ye breathe forth your perfume I my voice | J |
Will utter in morning freshness alert and glad | K |
- | |
As the thistledown melts in the air of very lightness | L |
Is scattered the web that trouble has vainly spun | M |
And my spirit arising bold and bathed in brightness | L |
Hymns the excellent sweet victorious sun | M |
