The Orchard Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACB DEFCE GHGIJ KLKIL

Almond apple and peachA
Walnut cherry plumB
Ash chestnut and beechA
And lime and sycamoreC
We have planted for days to comeB
-
No stony monumentD
But growing changing thingsE
Leaf fruit and honied scentF
Bloom that the bees exploreC
Sprays where the bird singsE
-
In other Junes than oursG
When the boughs spread and riseH
Tall into leafy towersG
To grace and guard this smallI
Corner of paradiseJ
-
When petals red and whiteK
Resign to warming airL
Without speech or sightK
From our hands they will fallI
On happy voices thereL
