The Little Dancers Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCACBCD

Lonely save for a few faint stars the skyA
Dreams and lonely below the little streetB
Into its gloom retires secluded and shyA
Scarcely the dumb roar enters this soft retreatB
And all is dark save where come flooding raysC
From a tavern window there to the brisk measureD
Of an organ that down in an alley merrily playsC
Two children all alone and no one byA
Holding their tattered frocks thro' an airy mazeC
Of motion lightly threaded with nimble feetB
Dance sedately face to face they gazeC
Their eyes shining grave with a perfect pleasureD
