The Lamp Of Greece Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCAABCA DEEFDF

Truth incorruptible lives on though sightA
Cloud and the heart flinch and the mind askanceB
Reject Because she sought that radianceC
Unweariable lover of the lightA
History's marvel Hellas in despiteA
Of time and interposing circumstanceB
Still stands above the siege of ignoranceC
Serene before the armies of the nightA
-
The mind has flowered where she wooed the seedD
Up from the darkness into beauty thereE
Love listens divine music fills the airE
Though we by glimpses only understandF
Who in the present anguish of our needD
Long for the light as for our native landF
