The August Weeds Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEAE AFGF FAHA FAFA AFAF FFIF JDKD AFAF LMFE

I wandered between woodsA
On a grassy down when stillB
Clouds hung after rainC
Over hollow and hillB
-
The blossom time was overD
The singing throats dumbE
And the year's coloured ripenessA
Not yet comeE
-
And all at unawaresA
Surprising the stray sightF
Ran straight into my heartG
Like a beam delightF
-
Negligent weeds ravelledF
The green edge of the copseA
Whitely dimly sparklingH
With a million dropsA
-
And sudden fancy feignedF
What strange beauty would passA
Did but a shiver of windF
Tremble through the grassA
-
Shaking the poised round dropsA
Spilled and softly rolledF
A glitter from the ragworth'sA
Roughened goldF
-
From the rusted scarletF
Of tall sorrel seedF
And fretted tufts frost grayI
Of the silver weedF
-
And from purple downed thistleJ
Towering dewy overD
Yellow cupped spurgeK
And the drenched sweet cloverD
-
But all were motionlessA
Not one breath shedF
Those little pale pearlsA
That an elf might threadF
-
Under a fading moonL
By an old thorn treeM
For the witching throatF
Of NimuE
