Sorrow Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACDE FGFGHH

Woe to him that has not known the woe of manA
Who has not felt within him burning all the wantB
Of desolated bosoms since the world beganA
Felt as his own the burden of the fears that dauntC
Who has not eaten failure's bitter bread and beenD
Among those ghosts of hope that haunt the day unseenE
-
Only when we are hurt with all the hurt untoldF
In us the thirst the hunger and ours the helpless handsG
The palsied effort vain the darkness and the coldF
Then only then the Spirit knows and understandsG
And finds in every sigh breathed out beneath the sunH
The human heart that makes us infinitely oneH
