Past And Future Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCE EFEF GG

Past is the past But no it is not pastA
In us in us it quickens wants aspiresB
And on our hearts the unknown dead have castA
The hunger and the thirst of their desiresB
-
Unknown the pangs the peace we too prepareC
What shakes this bosom shall reverberateD
Through ages unconceived in that deep lairC
The unguessed unhoped undreaded issues waitE
-
Our pregnant acts are all unprophesiedE
We dream sublime conclusions destine planF
Build and unbuild yet turn no jot asideE
The something infinite that moves in ManF
-
We write The End where fate has scarce begunG
And no man knows the thing that he has doneG
