Over The Sea Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GG

There came an evening when the storm had diedA
After long rain miraculously clearB
And lo across the burning waters wideA
Rose up that coast to thee and me how dearB
-
I knew the very houses by the bayC
And as I gazed the time that clouded thickD
On those old hours fell suddenly awayC
And memory was bared even to the quickD
-
There was no peace then in the evening lightE
For all my joy was left on that far shoreF
Betwixt that apparition and the nightE
Alone I was and I was brave no moreF
-
Could I not keep thee even in my heartG
O my dear love we perish when we partG
