Mother Of Exiles Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABACDEDECFC GDGH IJKIKJKKKKKLMKLNKNKO BO

What far off trouble stealsA
In soft blown drifts of glimmering rainB
What is it the wind feelsA
What sighing of what old home seeking painB
Among the hurried footsteps and the wheelsA
The living low continual roarC
Of night and London What is it comes nearD
Felt like a blind man's touch along the wallE
Questing and strange like fearD
Lets a lone silence 'mid the turmoil fallE
Makes the long street seem vaster than beforeC
And the tall lamp above dim passers byF
Gleam solitary as on an ocean shoreC
-
Ships on far tracks are stemming through the nightG
South east and west by foreign stars they steerD
Another half world in the sun lies brightG
The darkness and the wind are hereH
-
And now the rare late footfall scarce is heardI
But the wind cries along the emptied streetJ
In cowering lamp light flicker the fine dropsK
To vanish wildly blurredI
A hunted sky flies over the housetopsK
Importunate gusts beatJ
Shaking the windows knocking at the doorsK
As with phantasmal handsK
A crying as of spirits from far shoresK
And the bright under landsK
Seeking one placeK
That is to each eternal in the hueL
The light the shadow of some certain hourM
One pang like moment years cannot effaceK
O infinite remoteness near and newL
O corner where friend parted from his friendN
O door of the first kiss the last embraceK
O day when all was possible O endN
Irrevocable O dream feet that paceK
One street dear to the deadO
O London stones that glimmer in the rainB
With bliss with pain have you not also bledO
