Miyajima Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCDD EEFF GGHI JJKK

All paths lead upward to the skyA
In this green isle which mounts on highA
Through slumbrous valleys veiled in lightB
From waters dancing blue and brightB
-
And on those leafy paths appearC
Delicately stepping deerC
That move in wild and silent graceD
The very spirits of the placeD
-
Whether by old pine roots they standE
Or print small hoof marks on sea sandE
Their liquid eyes their gentle treadF
Are innocent of human dreadF
-
Beneath the ancient boughs they seemG
Strayed from the memory or the dreamG
Or hope of man the Golden AgeH
His unrecovered heritageI
-
This sacred isle has banished deathJ
And yet I would that my last breathJ
Might amid ocean murmur ceaseK
On such an isle in such a peaceK
