Louvain 19 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBC DEF D GE HIHI JJ

iiA
But from that blood those ashes there aroseB
Not hoped for terror cowering as it ranC
But divine anger flaming upon thoseB
Defamers of the very name of manC
-
Abortions of their blind hyena creedD
Who for ' protection ' of their battle hostE
Against the unarmed of them they had made toF
-
bleedD
-
Whose hearts they had tortured to the utterG
mostE
-
Without a cause past pardon fired and toreH
The towers of fame and beauty while they shotI
And butchered the defenceless in the doorH
But History shall hang them high to rotI
-
Unburied in the face of times unbornJ
Mankind's abomination and last scornJ
