Where she reclinesA
In a rock's cupB
Smooth tawny mossedC
Under tall pinesA
Her eyes look upB
Her gaze is lostC
-
Pine plumes sea grayD
When air sings throughE
The rust red stemsF
Wave slowly frayD
The liquid blueE
To flashing gemsF
-
A lizard's hasteC
Rustles dead leavesG
A light cone dropsH
Else this sweet wasteC
No sound receivesG
But stirred tree topsH
-
A thrill of airI
From far slow drawsJ
Its long caressK
Sighed out nowhereI
Then noon at pauseJ
Drinks silentnessJ
-
But she what waftC
Of perfume broughtC
Her musing stirsJ
What pure keen draughtC
Of wine like thoughtC
Even now is hersJ
-
Her eyes dream dreamsJ
Coiled foot stirs notC
Nor idle handC
Spell drowsed she seemsJ
Hushed in some plotC
Of faery landC
-
Yet soft with suchL
Light lingerings feltC
As when boughs partC
Again to touchL
Spring meet and meltC
Within her heartC
-
Hope wish and prayerI
And memory warmM
From far hours allN
Newly awareI
Of sudden charmO
And wistful callN
-
Out of lost yearsJ
Earth's mysteryP
Strange with its painQ
Holy with fearsJ
Touches her shyR
As breeze as rainQ
-
And this rich hourS
With feeling fillsJ
Too full to holdC
Its wealth a flowerS
That trembling spillsJ
Seed spice of goldC
