Between The Mountains And The Plain Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCABC DEFDEF AGHAGH

Between the mountains and the plainA
We leaned upon a rampart oldB
Beneath branch blossoms trembled whiteC
Far off a dusky fringe of rainA
Brushed low along a sky of goldB
Where earth spread lost in endless lightC
-
The mountains in their glory roseD
Peak thronging peak cloud shadows mappedE
The purpling brown with milky blueF
Removed austere shone rarer snowsD
Above dark ridges vapour wrappedE
Afar shone Love for me and youF
-
Sky seeking mountains boundless plainA
Old walls and April blossomed treesG
Of ever young world ancient powerH
The height the space was your refrainA
In us us too eternitiesG
Made of that moment a white flowerH
