Amo, Ergo Sum Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACD EFEFD GEGEH

Whatever seemed to reign within my breastA
Ere now or reigned in the true sovereign's roomB
Love has dethroned strong Love has dispossessedA
Like a glad master come to his own homeC
Love is my lord I call upon his nameD
-
Aimless I lived but now my aims are flownE
Winged to one mark wherever his voice callF
My heart shrinks from deep pains too well foreknownE
But my soul leaps with joy to welcome allF
With Love my joy I have no fear of shameD
-
So that Love lead my ever faithful feetG
I care not whether they be scarred or noE
Somehow somewhere the end must needs be sweetG
However rough the road by which we goE
Love is my trust for since I love I amH
