| Sweetness of home and the future hope had planned | E |

| A lode star drew them Britain standing alone | G |
| Clear in the darkness not to be overcome | F |
| Though the huge masses of hate are hurled against her | H |
| Wherever the spirit of freedom breathes is Home | F |

| Soon are they joined with incomparable comrades | I |
| Britain's flower Britain's pride | J |
| Against all odds despising the boastful Terror | H |
| On joyous wings in the ways of the wind they ride | J |

| From afar they battle for our ancient island | K |
| Soaring and pouncing masters of the skies | L |
| They are heard in the night by the lands betrayed and captive | M |
| And a throbbing of hope to their thunder throb replies | L |

| They are coming and coming over the perilous seas | O |
| How shall we hail them Truly there are no words | P |
