Rhyme Scheme: AABBAACCBB AADDEEFBB AAGGGGHHBB AA

WEEP not my wanton smile upon my kneeA
When thou art old there's grief enough for theeA
Mother's wag pretty boyB
Father's sorrow father's joyB
When thy father first did seeA
Such a boy by him and meA
He was glad I was woeC
Fortune chang d made him soC
When he left his pretty boyB
Last his sorrow first his joyB
-
Weep not my wanton smile upon my kneeA
When thou art old there's grief enough for theeA
Streaming tears that never stintD
Like pearl drops from a flintD
Fell by course from his eyesE
That one another's place suppliesE
Thus he grieved in every part Tears of blood fell from his heartF
When he left his pretty boyB
Father's sorrow father's joyB
-
Weep not my wanton smile upon my kneeA
When thou art old there's grief enough for theeA
The wanton smiled father weptG
Mother cried baby leptG
More he crowed more we criedG
Nature could not sorrow hideG
He must go he must kissH
Child and mother baby blissH
For he left his pretty boyB
Father's sorrow father's joyB
-
Weep not my wanton smile upon my kneeA
When thou art old there's grief enough for theeA
