The Heckuses Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDD EEFFGHII JJKKLLDD

That may not be the proper wayA
To spell their name I cannot sayA
I've never seen 'em written outB
I've only heard 'em talked aboutB
They're coming here tonight to dineC
So says that little son of mineC
But all last week 'twas just the sameD
They were to come and never cameD
-
And I'm just skeptical enoughE
To think they're all a myth a bluffE
Mere creatures of my youngster's brainF
Whose coming he'll await in vainF
And yet to him they're very realG
They own a big black auto'bileH
They work downtown and they'll arriveI
Out here at one two three four fiveI
-
The Heckuses are four all toldJ
There's Mrs H who's very oldJ
And Baby Heckus and a ladK
Named Tom and Bill the Heckus dadK
Beyond this point I can't describeL
The fascinating Heckus tribeL
I can but wonder how he cameD
To think of such a lovely nameD
