His Memory Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCE BFBF GAGA

Besides my little son's imaginationA
Another thing he has appeals to meB
And agitates my envious admirationA
It's his accommodating memoryB
-
An instant after some unlucky stumbleC
Has floored him and induced a howl of painD
He's clean forgotten all about his tumbleC
And violently sets out to romp againE
-
But if when I leave home I say that maybeB
I'll get him something nice while I'm awayF
It's very safe to bet that Mr BabyB
Will not forget though I be gone all dayF
-
Ah would I might lose sight of things unpleasantG
The bills I owe the work I haven't doneA
And only think of future joys and presentG
Like the approaching payday and my sonA
