Rhyme Scheme: ABAC DEDE FGFG HIHI

Dear Parents Don't imagine pleaseA
It's in a boastful spiritB
I fashion verses such as theseA
That's not the truth or near itC
-
A hundred or a thousand yesD
A million kids there may beE
Who aren't one iota lessD
Attractive than this babyE
-
I'll venture that your household hasF
As valuable a treasureG
As mine but mine I know and asF
For yours I've not that pleasureG
-
And that is why my book's aboutH
Just one O Dads and MothersI
But babes are babes and mine no doubtH
Is very much like othersI
