The Plough Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCBC DEFG HIHI JKJK

A landscape in BerkshireA
-
-
Above yon sombre swell of landB
Thou see'st the dawn's grave orange hueC
With one pale streak like yellow sandB
And over that a vein of blueC
-
The air is cold above the woodsD
All silent is the earth and skyE
Except with his own lonely moodsF
The blackbird holds a colloquyG
-
Over the broad hill creeps a beamH
Like hope that gilds a good man's browI
And now ascends the nostril streamH
Of stalwart horses come to ploughI
-
Ye rigid Ploughmen bear in mindJ
Your labour is for future hoursK
Advance spare not nor look behindJ
Plough deep and straight with all your powersK
