The Polar Quest Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAAAA BCBCB DD

UNCONQUERABLY men venture on the questA
And seek an ocean amplitude unsailedA
Cold virgin awful Scorning ease and restA
And heedless of the heroes who have failedA
They face the ice floes with a dauntless zestA
-
The polar quest Life s offer to the strongB
To pass beyond the pale to do and dareC
Leaving a name that stirs us like a songB
And making captive some strange OtherwhereC
Though grim the conquest and the labor longB
-
Forever courage kindles faith moves forthD
To find the mystic floodway of the NorthD
