Sonnet 04 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABBAACCDEFEFEF| A garden so well watered before morn | A |
| Is hotly up that not the swart sun's blaze | B |
| Down beating with unmitigated rays | B |
| Nor arid winds from scorching places borne | A |
| Shall quite prevail to make it bare and shorn | A |
| Of its green beauty shall not quite prevail | C |
| That all its morning freshness shall exhale | C |
| Till evening and the evening dews return | D |
| A blessing such as this our hearts might reap | E |
| The freshness of the garden they might share | F |
| Through the long day a heavenly freshness keep | E |
| If knowing how the day and day's glare | F |
| Must beat upon them we would largely steep | E |
| And water them betimes with dews of prayer | F |
